FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to our FAQ page! Here you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions parents have about our Montessori preschool program, curriculum, tuition, nutrition, and more.
🧩 Montessori Philosophy & Curriculum
What is Montessori education?
Montessori is a child-centered educational approach developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. It emphasizes independence, hands-on learning, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s natural psychological development.
How is Montessori different from traditional preschool?
Montessori classrooms are carefully prepared environments where children choose activities based on their interests and developmental readiness. Learning is individualized, with multi-age groupings and self-correcting materials that promote discovery and independence.
What subjects are included in the Montessori curriculum?
Our preschool curriculum includes practical life, sensorial, language, math, science, geography, cultural studies, and art. These are integrated into daily activities through hands-on, experiential materials that support cognitive and social-emotional growth.
Is kindergarten included in your Montessori preschool program?
Yes. The third year of our Montessori preschool cycle (typically for children age 5–6) functions as a full kindergarten year. It offers leadership opportunities, academic mastery, and a strong foundation for elementary success.
How do Montessori children perform academically?
Montessori students often perform at or above grade level in reading, writing, and math. More importantly, they develop independence, concentration, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love of learning.
💰 Tuition & Enrollment
What is included in the tuition?
Tuition includes full access to the Montessori curriculum, classroom materials, enrichment programs, and some meals or snacks, depending on your child’s schedule. Specific inclusions vary by program level (infant, toddler, preschool, kindergarten).
Do you offer part-time or half-day options?
Yes, we offer a range of schedules including full-day, half-day, and part-time options depending on the age group. Please contact us for current availability.
Is financial aid or tuition assistance available?
We do offer limited tuition assistance to qualifying families. Please inquire with our administration team for an application and more information.
Are there additional fees beyond tuition?
There may be occasional fees for field trips, special events, or optional enrichment activities. These will be clearly communicated in advance.
🥗 Nutrition & Meals
Are meals or snacks provided?
We provide healthy snacks daily for all age groups. Depending on your child’s schedule, lunch may also be included. Details vary by program—please see our tuition guide or contact the office for specifics.
What kinds of foods are served?
We prioritize fresh, nutritious, and balanced meals. Menus often include seasonal fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and minimally processed proteins. We accommodate common dietary restrictions and food allergies.
Can I pack my child’s lunch or snack?
Yes. Families are welcome to provide meals from home if they prefer. We ask that packed meals follow our nutritional guidelines and be free of common allergens in shared spaces (e.g., nuts).
How do you handle food allergies?
We take food allergies seriously. Our staff is trained in allergy protocols, and we work closely with families to create safe meal plans and monitor ingredients in shared foods.
🧒 Daily Life & Classroom Environment
What does a typical day look like in the preschool classroom?
Children begin with an uninterrupted work period, during which they choose activities from various learning areas. The day also includes snack time, group lessons, outdoor play, music or movement, and rest for younger children.
How do you support social and emotional development?
Grace and courtesy lessons, peaceful conflict resolution, and respectful communication are core parts of our curriculum. We help children identify emotions, develop empathy, and build positive relationships with peers and adults.
Is outdoor play part of the daily schedule?
Yes. Outdoor play and exploration are essential components of our day. Children go outside daily for movement, nature-based activities, and social interaction.
What is your teacher-to-child ratio?
Ratios vary by age group to ensure safety and individualized attention. Preschool classrooms typically maintain a 1:10 ratio or lower, in line with Montessori best practices and licensing standards.
